Job Overview

The Network Planning Manager will lead the design, optimization, and expansion of Orange Botswana’s radio access network (RAN) and core infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute multi‑year network rollout plans, aligning with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Lead feasibility studies, site acquisition, and infrastructure design for new cell sites and upgrades.
• Coordinate with RF engineers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely project delivery.
• Monitor network performance metrics, identify capacity constraints, and implement optimization initiatives.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for network planning projects.
• Engage with government agencies, local authorities, and vendors to secure permits and negotiate contracts.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior planners and analysts.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in LTE and 5G network architecture, RF planning, and capacity modeling.
• Proficiency with planning tools such as Atoll, Planet, or Mentum.
• Excellent project management abilities, including risk assessment and mitigation.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of Botswana’s telecommunications regulations and spectrum allocation.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in network planning, project management (PMP), or 5G technologies are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
