Job Overview

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program Manager will lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of Nestlé Botswana’s CSR portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, the manager will work closely with cross‑functional teams—including Marketing, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and R&D—to integrate social and environmental considerations into business decisions. The role involves stakeholder engagement with NGOs, government agencies, community leaders, and internal employees to ensure that CSR initiatives are aligned with local needs and corporate goals. The manager will also be responsible for measuring impact, preparing reports for senior leadership, and communicating successes to both internal and external audiences. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive CSR strategy that supports Nestlé’s global sustainability framework and local community priorities.
  • Identify, design, and launch flagship programs in areas such as nutrition education, water stewardship, youth empowerment, and sustainable agriculture.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with NGOs, government ministries, community groups, and industry associations to foster collaboration and co‑creation.
  • Lead the annual CSR budgeting process, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and alignment with business objectives.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on program outcomes using quantitative and qualitative metrics, preparing detailed impact reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate internal communication campaigns to raise employee awareness and encourage participation in CSR activities.
  • Represent Nestlé at industry forums, conferences, and community events to showcase best practices and share learnings.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and Nestlé’s Code of Business Conduct.

Required Skills

  • Strong project management abilities with a proven track record of delivering complex, multi‑stakeholder initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing senior leaders and external partners.
  • Deep understanding of sustainability trends, CSR best practices, and the food & beverage sector in Africa.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in impact measurement tools and data visualization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and cultures, fostering a shared sense of purpose.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Setswana is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CSR‑CP (Corporate Social Responsibility – Certified Professional) are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of 5‑7 years of relevant experience in CSR, sustainability, community development, or related fields, preferably within the food & beverage or consumer goods industry. Experience managing budgets of at least USD 500,000 and leading cross‑functional teams is essential.
