Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage risk assurance engagements from planning through delivery, ensuring adherence to KPMG methodologies and client expectations.
- Develop and implement risk‑based audit strategies tailored to industry‑specific challenges, including financial services, mining, energy and telecom.
- Provide senior‑level advisory on governance, risk management, internal controls and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor and coach junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Collaborate with business development teams to identify and pursue new client opportunities, contributing to the firm’s growth in Botswana.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior client stakeholders, highlighting findings, recommendations and value‑adding insights.
- Stay abreast of emerging risks, regulatory changes and industry trends to ensure KPMG’s services remain cutting‑edge.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on risk assessment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing senior executives.
- Proficiency in audit software tools and data analytics platforms.
- Leadership experience with a track record of managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Deep understanding of IFRS, local GAAP, and regulatory frameworks relevant to Botswana.

Education
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIA or CISA are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
A minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in audit, risk assurance or advisory services is required. Experience within the Botswana market or familiarity with local regulatory environments will be advantageous. Candidates with prior exposure to multinational client engagements across sectors such as banking, mining, energy or telecommunications will be given priority.
