Job Overview

The Industrial Safety Training Coordinator will design, develop, and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for all plant personnel, contractors, and subcontractors. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update safety training curricula, including induction, refresher, and specialized courses for heavy machinery operation.
• Conduct classroom and on‑site training sessions, ensuring interactive and practical learning experiences.
• Assess training effectiveness through evaluations, audits, and incident trend analysis, and adjust programs accordingly.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify emerging safety risks and integrate preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and compliance documentation in line with Botswana regulatory requirements.
• Lead safety drills, emergency response simulations, and toolbox talks on a regular schedule.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to junior safety staff and supervisors.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Botswana occupational health and safety legislation and ISO 45001 standards.
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and e‑learning authoring tools.
• Analytical mindset for interpreting safety data and generating actionable insights.
• Effective communication skills in English; proficiency in Setswana is an advantage.
• Ability to travel across multiple sites within Botswana as required.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or CSP are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.

Experience

Candidates must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience delivering safety training in a manufacturing or heavy‑equipment environment. Prior experience within the mining or construction sectors in Botswana will be viewed favorably.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 3,000 to SSP 4,500 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances for travel and training are also part of the compensation package.
