Job Overview

The Hospitality Operations Manager will lead all aspects of daily hotel operations at our upcoming Mahalapye property. Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless guest experiences, optimizing operational efficiency, and driving revenue growth. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the launch of a flagship Hilton property in a high‑potential market, working closely with cross‑functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Human Resources. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee front‑desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, and engineering departments to ensure operational excellence.
  • Develop and execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with Hilton brand standards and local regulations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), and guest satisfaction scores, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management for a diverse team of 80+ staff members.
  • Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing team to create promotional packages that attract both domestic and international travelers.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives to achieve financial targets.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety and sustainability.
  • Engage with local community leaders and tourism boards to foster partnerships and support regional development.

Required Skills

  • Strong leadership and people‑management abilities with a focus on coaching and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with guests, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in property management systems (PMS) and revenue management tools.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and drive profitability.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) or equivalent are advantageous but not mandatory.

Experience

Minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in hotel operations, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience in opening new properties or leading large‑scale operational transformations is highly desirable.
