Job Overview

Cargill Botswana is seeking a dynamic Agri-Tech Solutions Manager to lead the development and implementation of innovative agricultural technologies. This role will bridge the gap between emerging agri-tech solutions and Botswana’s agricultural sector, ensuring scalable, sustainable, and impactful outcomes for farmers and agribusinesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage agri-tech projects that integrate digital tools, IoT, and data analytics into farming practices.
  • Collaborate with local farmers, cooperatives, and stakeholders to identify challenges and co-create solutions.
  • Partner with technology providers to pilot and scale precision agriculture platforms, including soil health monitoring and crop yield prediction tools.
  • Develop training programs to upskill farmers and agribusinesses on the use of agri-tech solutions.
  • Monitor project performance, conduct impact assessments, and report findings to senior management.
  • Stay updated on global agri-tech trends and adapt best practices to the Botswana context.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in agricultural project management or agri-tech implementation.
  • Strong understanding of digital agriculture tools and their application in smallholder farming.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and cross-sector collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using tools like Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Fluency in Setswana and English is preferred.
  • Ability to work in remote rural areas and adapt to diverse cultural environments.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science, Agricultural Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s Degree in Agribusiness or Technology Management is an asset.

Experience

3–5 years of experience in agricultural technology, project management, or rural development. Prior experience in Botswana’s agricultural sector is highly advantageous.

Salary

200,000 – 250,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience.
