Job Overview
The Solar Project Engineer will lead the technical planning, design, and execution of solar power projects from conception through commissioning. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end engineering design of utility‑scale and off‑grid solar projects.
- Perform detailed site feasibility studies, including solar resource assessment and grid impact analysis.
- Prepare technical specifications, single‑line diagrams, and layout plans in compliance with local standards.
- Coordinate with procurement to source solar modules, inverters, mounting structures, and balance‑of‑system components.
- Manage construction activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality control procedures.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals from Botswana’s Energy Regulatory Authority and local municipalities.
- Oversee commissioning, performance testing, and handover to operations teams.

Required Skills

Education

Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in solar PV project engineering, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of projects ranging from 5 MW to 100 MW. Experience working in Southern Africa or similar emerging markets is highly valued.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and retirement benefits.
