Job Overview
This role focuses on designing and implementing smart manufacturing systems using IoT-enabled automation technologies. Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize smart manufacturing systems using ABB’s robotics and automation solutions
- Implement Industry 4.0 technologies including predictive maintenance and real-time data analytics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation systems with existing production lines
- Conduct feasibility studies for automation upgrades in Botswana’s manufacturing facilities
- Provide technical support for system troubleshooting and performance optimization
Required Skills
- Expertise in ABB’s 800xA and RobotStudio software platforms
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens/Allen Bradley)
- Experience with IoT sensors and cloud-based manufacturing analytics

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with specialization in automation systems. Postgraduate qualifications in Industrial Engineering or Mechatronics are advantageous.
Experience
3-5 years in industrial automation projects, with demonstrable experience in smart manufacturing implementations. Prior work in Botswana’s manufacturing sector is preferred.
Salary
120,000 – 160,000 SSP/year, commensurate with experience and technical expertise.
