Position Overview
The Underground Mining Equipment Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing trackless mining machinery used in underground operations. The role requires strong technical expertise in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems, along with a commitment to workplace safety and equipment reliability.
The successful candidate will work closely with maintenance teams, mine operators, and customers to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance and Repairs
- Perform preventive and corrective equipment maintenance on underground mining machinery.
- Conduct scheduled inspections and identify potential mechanical issues.
- Repair and replace defective components to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with manufacturer and safety standards.

Diagnostics and Fault Finding

Customer and Site Support
- Provide professional on-site technical support to mining customers.
- Assist operators and maintenance personnel with equipment-related issues.

Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate service documentation and maintenance records.

Required Qualifications
Education
- Trade Test Certification in:
- Diesel Mechanic
- Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic
- Millwright
- Auto Electrician
- Or equivalent technical qualification
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience working on underground trackless mining equipment.
- Experience with OEM mining machinery and heavy equipment.
- Strong background in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance.
- Previous underground mining experience is essential.
