Job Overview

The Hydroponic Farm Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day management of CeresFresh’s hydroponic production facility in Mochudi. Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, you will oversee all aspects of crop production, resource optimization, quality control, and team leadership. The role demands a blend of technical expertise in controlled environment agriculture, strong operational acumen, and the ability to drive performance metrics that support profitability and sustainability. You will collaborate with research and development, supply chain, and sales teams to ensure that production schedules align with market demand, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise all hydroponic crop cycles to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team of agronomists, technicians, and labor staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Monitor and optimize nutrient solutions, water usage, lighting, and climate controls to maximize yield and minimize waste.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous food safety and HACCP protocols, ensuring compliance with Botswana’s regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze production data, generate performance reports, and recommend process improvements to senior management.
  • Coordinate with procurement to secure seeds, nutrients, and equipment, maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and carbon footprint tracking.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, certification bodies, and research partners.
