Job Overview
This role is part of EDF Renewables Botswana’s initiative to expand solar and wind energy infrastructure in Botswana. The Renewable Energy Systems Analyst will play a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and monitoring renewable energy systems to ensure efficiency and sustainability. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Botswana’s renewable energy future while working with cutting-edge technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical analysis of solar and wind energy systems to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design renewable energy projects tailored to Botswana’s climate and energy needs.
- Monitor and evaluate energy output data to identify improvements in system efficiency.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, including government partners and investors.
- Stay updated on global renewable energy trends and integrate best practices into local projects.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., HOMER, RETScreen).
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data interpretation and system optimization.
- Knowledge of Botswana’s energy policies and renewable energy regulations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on sustainability.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Master’s Degree preferred but not required.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in renewable energy systems analysis or project management.
- Proven track record in solar/wind energy projects in Africa.
Salary
150,000 – 200,000 SSP annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
