Job Overview
The Economic Development Specialist will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the World Bank’s economic development program in Botswana. This will involve working closely with government officials, private sector representatives, and civil society organizations to identify and address economic development challenges in the country.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in economics and experience working on economic development projects. They will be able to analyze complex economic data, identify trends and patterns, and develop effective solutions to economic development challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of the World Bank’s economic development program in Botswana
- Work closely with government officials, private sector representatives, and civil society organizations to identify and address economic development challenges in the country
- Analyze complex economic data, identify trends and patterns, and develop effective solutions to economic development challenges
- Develop and implement economic development projects and programs
- Collaborate with other World Bank teams to ensure that economic development projects and programs are aligned with the Bank’s overall strategy
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in economics or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience working on economic development projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Education
