Job Overview
The Solar Project Development Manager will lead the end‑to‑end development of utility‑scale solar projects in Botswana, from site identification and feasibility studies through permitting, financing, construction, and commissioning. Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate potential solar sites across Botswana, conducting resource assessments, grid connection studies, and land use analyses.
- Lead feasibility studies, including technical, financial, and environmental assessments, to determine project viability.
- Prepare and submit permit applications, ensuring compliance with national regulations, environmental standards, and community engagement requirements.
- Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation plans, coordinating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
- Negotiate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), land lease contracts, and financing terms with utilities, investors, and lenders.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including government ministries, local authorities, community leaders, and NGOs, to secure support and address concerns.
- Oversee the procurement process for EPC contractors, ensuring competitive bidding and adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor project progress, reporting key performance indicators to senior management and ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability goals.
- Facilitate the commissioning and handover of completed solar farms, ensuring operational readiness and performance guarantees.
- Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across Enel Green Power’s regional portfolio, contributing to continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and financial modeling abilities, with proficiency in Excel and project management software.
- In‑depth knowledge of solar PV technology, grid integration, and renewable energy regulations in Botswana.

Education
