Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses across all processing stages, including slaughter, chilling, cutting, and packaging.
  • Lead internal and external audits, prepare audit reports, and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and maintain accurate records of temperature, sanitation, and microbial testing.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to evaluate new products, ingredients, and processing technologies for safety compliance.
  • Provide training and mentorship to plant personnel on food safety best practices and regulatory updates.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with Botswana’s Department of Agriculture, Food and Veterinary Services and international certification bodies.
  • Analyze food safety data, generate trend reports, and recommend preventive measures to reduce non‑conformities.
