Job Overview

The Blockchain Solutions Architect will lead the design, development, and implementation of blockchain-based platforms that support the bank’s digital products and services. Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise‑grade blockchain solutions for payments, trade finance, and digital identity verification.
• Lead proof‑of‑concept initiatives and pilot projects to evaluate emerging blockchain platforms such as Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, and Ethereum.
• Develop smart contracts, consensus mechanisms, and integration APIs that connect blockchain networks with existing banking systems.
• Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory frameworks, including KYC, AML, and data protection standards.
• Mentor and guide development teams on blockchain best practices, security protocols, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with vendors and fintech partners to assess technology roadmaps and integration strategies.
• Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and governance policies for internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills

• Deep expertise in blockchain platforms (Hyperledger, Corda, Ethereum) and smart contract development.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Solidity, Go, Java, or Rust.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of cryptographic principles, consensus algorithms, and distributed ledger security.
• Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into technical designs.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with financial services regulations in Botswana and the Southern African region.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in blockchain technology, cloud architecture, or fintech innovation are highly desirable.

Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience designing and implementing blockchain solutions in a financial services environment. Demonstrated track record of delivering production‑grade blockchain applications that have been adopted at scale.
