Job Overview

The Geotechnical Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability and safety of underground and open‑pit mining operations at the Orapa mine. Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, the incumbent will conduct site investigations, analyze soil and rock mechanics, and provide design recommendations for slopes, foundations, and support systems. Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed geotechnical investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in‑situ testing.
• Analyze laboratory results to assess rock mass quality, shear strength, and deformation characteristics.
• Develop and review slope stability models, foundation designs, and ground support plans for mining infrastructure.
• Collaborate with mine planners, civil engineers, and safety officers to integrate geotechnical recommendations into operational plans.
