Job Overview
The Quantum Computing Research Engineer will join IBM’s Quantum Research Lab to design, develop, and test quantum algorithms and hardware prototypes that address real‑world challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning tasks.

- Collaborate with hardware engineers to improve qubit coherence, gate fidelity, and error mitigation techniques.
- Analyze experimental data, perform statistical validation, and refine models based on results.

- Provide technical guidance to software developers integrating quantum services into IBM Cloud offerings.
- Engage with local universities and research institutes to foster collaborative projects and talent pipelines.
Required Skills
- Strong foundation in quantum mechanics, linear algebra, and computational complexity.
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages such as Qiskit, Cirq, or OpenQASM.
- Experience with classical programming languages (Python, C++, Java) for hybrid algorithm development.
- Familiarity with quantum error correction, noise modeling, and hardware calibration.
- Ability to work independently and lead small research teams.

Education

Experience
