Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer satellite communication systems, including VSAT, GEO, and LEO constellations.
  • Perform link budget analysis, RF planning, and performance testing to guarantee service quality.
  • Coordinate with vendors, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders for equipment procurement and licensing.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot satellite network issues, providing rapid resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for satellite operations.
  • Lead pilot projects for emerging satellite technologies such as high‑throughput satellites (HTS) and hybrid terrestrial‑satellite solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Network Operations Center to integrate satellite links with the core MPLS backbone.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers and field technicians.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of RF engineering, modulation schemes, and antenna design.
  • Proficiency with satellite network planning tools (e.g., SatPlanner, iDirect, Viasat).
  • Experience with IP networking, MPLS, and QoS configuration.
  • Ability to interpret and apply ITU and local spectrum regulations.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and a data‑driven approach to performance optimization.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Project management experience, preferably with Agile or PRINCE2 methodologies.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Satellite Communications Professional (CSCP) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) are advantageous.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five years’ hands‑on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining satellite communication systems in a commercial environment. Prior exposure to mobile network integration and experience working with multinational telecom operators will be highly valued.

Salary

The role offers a competitive salary range of SSP 250,000 to 350,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
