Job Overview

This critical role ensures all beverage products meet international quality standards and regulatory requirements. The specialist will oversee production processes, conduct laboratory testing, and implement quality control protocols to maintain Distell Botswana’s reputation for excellence. Ideal candidates will combine technical expertise with a passion for food science and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and test raw materials, in-process products, and finished beverages for compliance with quality standards
• Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures and documentation
• Conduct audits of production facilities and supplier sites
• Investigate and resolve quality deviations and non-conformances
• Collaborate with R&D to improve product formulations and processes
• Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations

Required Skills

• Proven experience in beverage quality assurance/quality control
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 standards
• Proficiency in laboratory equipment and analytical testing methods
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
• Postgraduate qualification in Quality Management preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years in food/beverage quality assurance roles
• Experience in alcohol beverage production advantageous

Salary

200,000 – 300,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
