Job Overview

The Senior Structural Engineer will lead the design, analysis, and execution of complex structural systems for a variety of construction projects, including residential complexes, industrial facilities, and public infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis for multi‑storey buildings, industrial plants, and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications using industry‑standard software such as ETABS, SAP2000, and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and construction teams to integrate structural solutions seamlessly.
• Ensure compliance with Botswana Building Regulations, international codes (e.g., Eurocode, ACI), and client requirements.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction to resolve design issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and oversee their work quality, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
• Participate in value engineering workshops to optimize material usage and project costs.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and presentations for stakeholders.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in structural analysis software (ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE) and BIM tools.

Education

Experience

Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with at least three (3) years in a senior or lead role on large‑scale construction projects. Experience in the Botswana construction market or similar African contexts is preferred.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from SSP 120,000 to SSP 180,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may also be offered.
