Job Overview
Botswana Job Search is proud to announce the availability of an Agricultural Extension Officer position at the Botswana Agricultural Marketing Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing extension services to farmers and rural communities, and for promoting the adoption of new technologies and practices in agriculture.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture, and experience in extension services or a related field. They will be able to communicate effectively with farmers and rural communities, and to provide technical support and guidance on agricultural practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide extension services to farmers and rural communities, including training and technical support on agricultural practices
- Promote the adoption of new technologies and practices in agriculture
- Conduct field visits to monitor progress and provide feedback to farmers
- Develop and implement extension programs and projects
- Collaborate with other stakeholders, including government agencies and NGOs, to promote agricultural development
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in extension services or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of agricultural practices and technologies
