Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Extension Officer to join our team in Mahalapye, Botswana. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to farmers, extension agents, and other stakeholders on sustainable agricultural practices, crop management, and soil conservation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people. The candidate will also be required to travel extensively throughout the country, providing training and support to farmers and extension agents.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and guidance to farmers, extension agents, and other stakeholders on sustainable agricultural practices, crop management, and soil conservation.
• Develop and implement training programs for farmers and extension agents on sustainable agricultural practices.
• Conduct field visits to monitor progress, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with other stakeholders, including researchers, policymakers, and private sector companies, to promote sustainable agricultural practices.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including farmers, extension agents, and community leaders.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in agricultural extension or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel extensively throughout the country.
