Job Overview
Esri Botswana is seeking a dynamic Geospatial Analyst to join our team in Kasane. This role will focus on leveraging GIS tools to support environmental planning initiatives, including land use analysis, conservation mapping, and climate resilience projects. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with a passion for sustainability to deliver actionable insights for clients across Botswana.

Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and interpret geospatial data to support environmental planning projects
- Develop interactive maps and visualizations for stakeholders using ArcGIS and other GIS platforms
- Collaborate with environmental scientists and policymakers to identify spatial patterns and trends
- Conduct field surveys to validate geospatial data accuracy and completeness
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and internal teams
Required Skills
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing tools
- Strong analytical skills with experience in environmental data interpretation
- Knowledge of Botswana’s environmental regulations and conservation priorities
- Excellent communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or related field
- Master’s Degree preferred but not required
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in geospatial analysis or environmental planning
- Proven track record in GIS project management
Salary
SSP 150,000 – SSP 200,000 per annum, depending on experience.
